As Promised!

In a previous blog entry, I had shared my desire to visit all accessible castles within Aberdeenshire and (possible) neighbouring counties. I had little idea of where to visit next until upon research, I discovered this beauty located in the deep countryside of Moray. Auchindoun is a 15th Century Castle that boasts breathtaking landscapes from literally every direction!

The weather was unfortunately quite dreary throughout with short episodes of heavy rain, however, as most photographers may know, dull skies are the perfect condition for photographing! The castle's isolated stature ensures that you will have a peaceful visit with the stillness of the countryside surroundings (and lack of people...) ;)

Had the weather been slightly better, I may have spent the entire day there, ditching any and all other plans. I can't think of a better location to shoot endless portraits and landscapes, have a wee picnic and really absorb all of the castle's wonderful history and landscapes. Alas, I guess this that will have to wait for another trip, another time, of which I'm sure there will be many.

Explore it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
